How do I use thresholds?

It is your choice how you want to use thresholds. You can use them on performance, schedule and index. They can be added to the dashboard portlets and they can be configured in administer>my preferences. It's really up to you but you can use them to show as of today and forecast to be complete for schedule performance. Same with cost and index.
